Design for a Medical Device Using Vibration Technology
The device provides threatment to prevent muscle degeneration, through vibrational stimulation. It’s application field is intensive care wards and other medical facilities where patients with limited mobility are threated. This effective method for early mobilization and improvement of the functional status was confirmed in a clinical trial at the SANA Clinic Duisburg on coma patients .
For the project, a large sequence of design concepts have been created and developed to the final version as CAD model of the housing parts, which served as a basis for the mechanical design and later CNC milling of GRP laminate forms.
